Andy stayed with me for a hour of so after I got settled into my room. He had to go home to be with Zoe and Titan. I was talking with my nurse about baby names when she noticed we had not yet named our baby girl. She mentioned to me that she loved the name Zoe and would use that name if she were to have another girl, even if she didn't have the intention of having another baby. She told me her daughter's name is Sydney. I didn't give it much thought until late in the night, while holding my new baby, did the name Sydnee creep into my mind. "Hmm... Sydnee. Sydnee." It fit. A name that is known, but not overly used, and a sweetness to it. That was my baby girl. Sydnee. I sent a quick text to Andy and waited until the morning to see if he would veto it. During the next morning's visit from Andy, we knew we had to decide. After 5 months of painfully searching for a name, in just a few hours we had it. Over the next few days I said her name over 100 times in my head to get used to it and to practice saying Sydnee instead of Cindy. I'm glad to say that today, at 5 weeks old, I finally got her name down. Zoe loves hearing her name while watching Nemo when talking about Sydney, Australia.
